Cooking 308 | OLD-FASHIONED POPCORN

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 34th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

This week has been really crummy and depressing - grey, rainy, drizzly and foggy. It reminded me very much of the English weather I used to know! I got kind of down-in-the-dumps and needed a quick pick-me-up. At such times, I would normally turn to my favourite ice cream, but I didn't have any since I've been trying to curb my cravings.

Off On My Tangent - STINKY STENCH!

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 33rd post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

There's a stench in the air! I'm not talking crop spraying stench...but the stench of bigotry, prejudice, racism, hypocrisy and pride. Nowadays, it seems if you have enough money you can get away with saying and doing whatever the heck you please, regardless of whom you offend or insult.

Off On My Tangent | Beauty 206

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 32nd post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Regular readers of my blog know I love Shea Butter and use it liberally in my homemade creams and lotions for both body and natural hair. You can find my other Shea recipes here. The summer months are usually a problem for my whipped creams in particular, because they tend to lose their "whipped" consistency and become very liquidy [is that even a word?] due to the high coconut oil content. Nothing goes to waste though, because I still use them!

Cooking 307 | GROWN-UP MAC 'N' CHEESE

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 31st post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

I've been somewhat under the weather lately and just haven't had the energy to do anything. My one consolation is I love how soft and curly my hair is - courtesy of my new and improved DIY Coco-Shea hair and body creme that I made a couple of days ago. I'll post an update soon. In the meantime, I did have to pop out for a bit yesterday...first time I saw daylight all week! My fridge was crying out for some attention so I had to pick up a few things for dinner.

Cooking 306 | LASAGNA

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 30th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Today, I had to make dinner, but after being out 'n' about for half the morning, I didn't have the usual time [nor energy] to slave in the kitchen. Earlier, I had picked up a few things from the supermarket on my way home, but I had no plan on what to make. As I rummaged and tutted through the fridge/pantry, I spotted a couple packs of ground turkey and chicken hidden behind some veggies. I usually keep those to make meatloaf, but we had that last week and I wasn't up for it again.

Off On My Tangent | Natural Curls 103

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the third post in my series entitled "Natural Curls!"

If you've read any of my previous hair tangents, you'll know I decided to "go back to my roots" and become one with my natural hair. Prior to this decision, I had been a "chemical slave" [aka addicted to hair crack] since my early teens. Sure, I had perfectly straight hair, it was easy to manage and I could do just about any style I wanted, but my hair was severely damaged, excessively dry and brittle from years of heat styling and relaxing [chemically straighten]. It had gotten so bad that I was seeing more of my hair in my comb and on the floor rather than on my head!!! So, I knew the time had come to make some necessary changes to my hair routine.

Off On My Tangent | Beauty 205

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 17th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

I have a new love...it's not what you're thinking...it's simply Mango Butter!
I've been reading up a lot about Mango Butter recently and since it received such rave reviews, I decided I needed to try this butter out for myself. Here are some of the benefits I read about and can attest to after I made it:

Cooking 305 | CORNBREAD

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 29th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Lately, my moods seems to change with the seasons and I've been craving comfort foods like soup and stews. I made a delicious vegetable bean soup recently [recipe to follow], but I didn't have my favourite rustic bread for dipping. Then I had an idea [sometimes they come to me just like that]. Why not make cornbread? Usually, I head straight for the blue and yellow box [you know the brand that starts with "J"], but since I'm trying to reduce my chemical dependence, why not make my own from scratch...shouldn't be too hard right?

Off On My Tangent | Beauty 204

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 11th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Today, I thought we'd have a little "pamper me" day. I've been eyeing this packet of beeswax sitting on my counter wondering what to do with it. Then a lightbulb went off - as winter approaches, our lips need a little tlc too so why not try making lipbalm! Well, I did get a little EPG-nervous, because I've not made this before and I also have a kind of love-hate friendship with beeswax.

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 27th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

As kids, while playing skipping-rope (jump-rope for those in the US), whenever we thought one or the other was telling a fib or two, we used to taunt each other and our friends with the rhyme "Liar, liar, pants on fire!" This was done innocently of course, but do you know that you are actually being lied to on a far grander scale?

Money! Money!! MONEY!!!

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 25th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Money! Money!! Money!!! There are people in this world who are highly motivated to the point of being controlled by money...they'll do anything they can to obtain it and keep it...they are servants [slaves] of money. Then there are those who budget their money carefully, living comfortably within their means. They're not looking for any "get-rich-quick" schemes. These ones are masters of money. Whatever the case might be, the majority of us are or have at some point been stressed over money.

Cooking 304 | BANANA NUT MUFFINS

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 24th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Today, I had this craving for something sweet, but there was nothing that grabbed my fancy in the pantry. I had these sorry-looking bananas on the counter that kept calling out to me for help! [lol] I would have thrown them away sooner, but I hate to waste food. I love bananas, but much prefer them when they're just starting to get a few speckles.

THE TEN PLAGUES - Epilogue

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my third Bible series entitled "The Ten Plagues".

Let's recap: Ten plagues have befallen Egypt. The Egyptian magic-practicing priests and all their false gods and goddesses have been shamed by the power and might of Jehovah God. Pharaoh was haughty and refused to free God's people from slavery. He had a change of heart only after his firstborn son was killed as a result of the tenth plague. Why were the plagues necessary and what lessons can we learn?

THE TEN PLAGUES - Plague #1

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my third Bible series entitled "The Ten Plagues".

There are several instances of plagues mentioned in the Bible, but this series will focus primarily on the Ten Plagues in the book of Exodus chapters 5-13.

Do you know what a plague is? One English dictionary describes a plague as:
1. An epidemic disease that causes high mortality; pestilence
2. Any widespread affliction, calamity, or evil, especially one regarded as a direct punishment by God.
3. To smite with a plague, pestilence, death, etc.; scourge.

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the special edition, feature-length finale of my mini Bible series "Bible Teachings". I hope you have enjoyed this series and learned some Bible truths as well. If you happened to miss any previous episodes along the way or just need a refresher, you may revisit the entire series here.
Let's recap: Previously, you learned that Jehovah God requires you to take action to get to know Him and His Son, Jesus Christ in order to help you endure the race for life and put you in line for the benefits of Jesus' ransom sacrifice. Today, we'll summarize the importance of accurate knowledge and truth.

Bible Teachings 410 - Jesus Saves (Pt.5)

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the special edition of my mini Bible series "Bible Teachings". This is a rerun of Episode 10 that I've condensed into shorter versions to facilitate reading and comprehension...with a few surprise additions!

With training in mind, what must we personally do to endure and put ourselves in line to benefit from Jesus' ransom sacrifice? Let's see what the Bible says.

Religion 505

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my second mini series entitled "Religion".

Let's recap: In the prior article, we compared some of the popular religious beliefs versus what the Bible actually teaches. Before I complete this particular series on religion, there's one other important point I need to bring to your attention - how to recognize true religion.

Saturday, July 11, 2015

Religion 504

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my second mini series entitled "Religion".

Let's recap: In the previous article, you learned that when it comes to worshipping God, there are only two choices - God's way or Satan's. Many religions today have doctrines, teachings and practices that do not originate with God. Let's look at some of the popular lies religious beliefs and compare them with what the Bible actually says.

Religion 503

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my second mini series entitled "Religion".

Let's recap: In the last article, you learned that genuine followers of Jesus Christ, those who endeavour to live by Christian standards, still exist and can be recognized by their fruits. Some will scoff at this and say it doesn't matter what religion you belong to as they all lead to the same place - to God. Is that how you feel or what you believe? Let's consider what the Bible says.

Religion 502

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my second mini series entitled "Religion".

Let's recap: In the last article, you learned religion originated in the time of Nimrod and the city of Babel [later known as Babylon]. You also learned that the people got scattered far and wide, taking with them their Babylonish beliefs and practices such as hellfire, immortality of the soul, idolatry and occult, some/all of which are prevalent in most religions today. With those facts in mind, let's discuss the next topic: Can religion be trusted?

Religion 501

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and my second mini series entitled "Religion".

Religion has always been a controversial subject, especially more so in the current stream of time since so many crimes are committed in the name of religion. Have you ever wondered where religion originated from? Why there are so many religions? Can religion be trusted? Do you believe all religions lead to God? How do you know which religion is the true one? These questions will be answered in this and future articles based on what the Bible says.

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #23 | Suffering

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 23rd post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Let's recap: In a previous article, you learned that God's will is for us to be in a close friendship with Him and for us to live in peace and happiness on a paradise earth forever. You may be wondering if that's His will, why is there so much suffering in the world then? Let's look to the source of truth for answers, God's Word, the Bible.

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #22 | Christmas

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 22nd post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

While out and about in my neighbourhood recently, I'm already seeing signs of Christmas. Decorations and specialty foods are popping up in stores, commercials are on the telly, the Christmas frenzy starts early! But, have you ever stopped to think about where in fact Christmas comes from? Is Christmas a Bible teaching or simply another one of those man-made traditions? Let's see what the Bible actually says.

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #21 | God's Will

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 21st post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

In the previous articles on prayer, you learned God's name is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18*). You also learned that if you want your prayers to be heard and/or answered by Jehovah God, you must petition Him according to His will and pray to Him with sincerity and humility in Jesus' name only. Today, we'll discuss another aspect of prayer - God's Will.

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #20 | Prayer (Pt.2)

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 20th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

In the last article, you learned that if you want to talk to God, you must approach him in prayer, not in some showy act of display mind you, but with sincerity, honesty and humility. You also learned that if you want God to hear your prayers, you must petition Him according to His will and in Jesus' name only. Today, we'll discuss a question that so many people have on their minds - Does God answer my prayers?

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #19 | Prayer (Pt.1)

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 19th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

Talking to each other is a basic requirement of friendship. Some people can chat endlessly on the phone, others by email, letter, text or Skype. Whatever the case might be, there has to be two-way communication in order to bring about understanding, trust and affection. How then are we to talk to God since He lives in the heavens and we can't see Him? That's where the loving provision of prayer comes in.

A DASH OF ENTREPRENEURIAL #18 | Truth

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 18th post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!" Now that the AtoZ Challenge is over, I've resumed my irregular, infrequent mewsings.

Many people today use their various electronic devices like iPads, Galaxies, Kindles (just to name a few) for reading. I love my iPad and use it everyday, but when it comes to reading, I'm a bookworm at heart.

AtoZ 2015 - REFLECTIONS of a SURVIVOR

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
PHEW!!! The 2015 AtoZChallenge is finally over and I survived another year. Let me tell you, posting 26 posts for 26 days of April with Sundays off was no easy task. My theme was things around my home and I did a lot of prep work taking photos, resizing and pre-scheduling my posts well before the challenge started - a necessary step not only to maintain my sanity, but because I knew I couldn't be online everyday.

A to Z Challenge | Z is for ZINC OXIDE

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.

Hooray...huZZah...yippee! Today is the last day for taking part in the 2015 AtoZ Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April with Sundays off. My theme is "Things around my home". All photos are by me, Entrepreneurial Goddess. You can find my previous entries here...
It's certainly been challenging finding things around my home for some of the not-too-often-used letters like Q, U, V, X, Y and Z. I've come across items that have been hidden in the recesses of my cupboards for I don't know how long.

Today's letter is: Y for Yellow Bananas
I love bananas - they're a good source of fibre for your digestive system and potassium to help keep your blood pressure under control. If I plan to have a very long day, I'll usually eat a healthy breakfast consisting of a banana, some fruit and a bowl of porridge (oatmeal for those in the US) and/or toast and eggs.

I had a hard time finding anything x-like in my home. I was almost ready to give up when I saw it...my yellow hard hat sitting quietly in the cupboard. When I turned it over, I was half expecting to find work gloves or even a spider or two, but no...there it was...my "X" staring straight at me with a smile!

I like most vegetables and try to have a serving with each meal. There are, however, some vegetables, like Brussels Sprouts, that can be quite bland and boring. However, I have found that if you roast them, they get brown around the edges and become sweet and yummy.

Whether it's teabags or loose tea...I love tea...must be the British in me! Tea is meant to be sipped and savoured. Nothing beats a good, hot, steaming cuppa (cup of tea), especially in the afternoon with either a slice or two of fruit cake or some biscuits (cookies for those in the US).
